Without marine life, there would be no human life. We rely on the sea for so many different things: oxygen, food, medicine. But the sea has become a very busy place, with wind farms, fisheries, and oil platforms, says Lisa Becking, Tropical Marine Biologist at Wageningen University & Research and member of the Wageningen Biodiversity Initiative. We must figure out which activities are crucial, which ones can be reduced and which protect marine ecosystems.
